 Become A Male Model Biogarpgy

Source(Google.com.pk)
I have a male friend who has asked for my help in breaking into the fitness modeling industry. Unfortunately I don't have much info for him, as my industry experience is as a female editorial/beauty model for print work. So, I'm now turning to all of you! I'd specifically appreciate hearing from people who have direct experience either in hiring male fitness models or who are/were male fitness models.

My friend is 20 (about to turn 21), medium height (5'10" perhaps?), has no previous experience, strength trains and exercises regularly, has a muscular physique (though he is not so big as to look 'roided out' or like the heavy duty fitness models), has curly/wavy blond hair, and is not willing to model in a nude/sexual context.

Any advice, tips, or insights? Does anyone have any links to beginning male fitness model profiles which would show a good template for him to base his own MM profile around (he has yet to create an account)?

Please and thank you!

If you click on "BROWSE" above you can find all of the male models (I searched age 18-24) who list "Fitness" as one of their genres and who do not do nudes.

I got 5,954 results.  Feel free to further limit your search criteria (by race, age, weight, geographical region, hair color . . .etc.)

EDIT: for some reason, the link isn't working but I think you should be able to recreate the Search I did and see the results list I obtained.

Ah, I'd considered that, but I was curious to hear from people who might hire a fitness model to see if they might be able to point out particular profiles which are appealing to a photographer or project director; that way I can show my friend some profiles that stand-out to a photographer's eye...rather than just give him a bit list of random guys who may or may not be good templates for him to learn from.

To seriously be a fitness model, he needs to be absolutely ripped, and have less than 10% body fat. If he has an ounce of visible fat, he will not make the cut as a fitness model.

Note that there is a difference between a fitness model and a fashion model. A fashion model must be able to fit standard size men's clothes off the rack. A lot of fitness models are too bulked up, and often can't wear a standard cut of clothes. There is some crossover, but not much. Male models can be fitness models or fashion models, but rarely both.

He might also search out photographers who do fitness photography. I hire fitness models. You can check out my pport for an idea of what appeals. I agree with the poster who said your friend must absolutely be in op condition. I would say 6 to 8 percent body fat at all times.

He needs current images as another poster mentioned. He should build a portfolio showing athletic pursuits. Looking at magazines like Men's Fitness, Strength and Health, Men's Health will give hi an idea of the loook and style of images he needs and photographers who make such images.

He should also do a search on photographers who do fitness photography. There should be several in SF.

Apologies in advance for a semi-flippant (while being semi-serious) response:

1)  Be born male.
2)  Be incredibly fit (because the competition is).
3)  Be photogenic.
4)  Learn how to move & pose.
5)  Get some great photos.
6)  Get a portfolio on-line; here or elsewhere or on your own website.
7)  Get materials made (like business cards, comp cards, stationary, etc.).
8)  Develop a marketing plan.
9)  Implement your marketing plan.

Your marketing plan needs to include you being proactive, finding the photographers in your area that photograph fitness models, and introducing yourself (handing out those business and/or comp cards).  Volunteer & get visible.

The best way to appear active is to be active.  Get out there.

Male Models Wanted Biography

Source(Google.com.pk)
FULL NAME: ALEXANDRE MARX CARNEIRO
PLACE OF BIRTH: BRASILIA-BRASIL
CURRENT RESIDING: DENVER-CO
DOB: 11/21/87
HEIGHT: 5'10
WEIGHT: APPROX 195LBS
HAIR: SHORT BROWN
EYES: HAZEL
MAJOR: KINESIOLOGY
MINOR: NUTRITION

My story begins but it still hasn't ended. It has a middle but still no conclusion.  I am a Kinesiologist and Personal Wellness coach whom for the past several years have spent training and helping others in their own personal fitness endaviours. I was born in Brasilia-Brasil but did not spend much time as when my father got relocated to Rome-Italy we spent over 8 years there. Moved to Ecuador and then Santiago de Chile at an earlier age.  Changing countries gave me the benefit of learning multiple languages as I went by and experience different cultures of the world without a doubt.  Later in 2006 I decided to re-locate myself to Colorado as I wanted to pursue my degree and education in the United States. As the years went by I gradually started being fascinated with the human body and its response to exercise and nutrition and decided that I wanted to further expand my knowledge in that field.
During my college years I focused my energy into expanding my knowledge in the field of nutrition and exercise science, but most importantly I focused my energy into applying my education into real life. First I began with my own body and then eventually decided to get certified as a trainer so I could start teaching others my style of living and training. As the years went by and my personal training expertise grew I knew that I would have to take it to the next level and continue my education in not only improving other's lifestyle but also taking my own body, mind and soul to the next too.

First Overall Mens' Physique Champion in CA History
My motivation and passion was always there with me since I was younger, however as I progressed in my path to become the best I could be I found myself lost; before 2010 there was no Men's Physique and bodybuilding was the only sport I could compete in if I wanted to become an IFBB Pro. My modeling carrer has not reached it's top and I was not sure what was the next step. Luckily in 2010 the Olympia LLC partnered up with Muscle and Fitness to create the first ever Muscle & Fitness Male Model Search. I knew this would be an outstanding opportunity to take my journey to the next level. 89 contestants entered that day and I was blessed to earn 3rd place and end up shooting with Muscle & Fitness for a three magazine spread a few months later. Things got even better as later the NPC and IFBB decided to announce that they would introduce a new male division to the organization; Men's Physique. With this huge window of opportunity for thousands of male models and athletes that wanted to compete but not take their bodies to a different look it would a whole new world for us to compete. I started in California with the first ever Men's Physique Competition and earned 1st place in my height class and then later won the overall. Following that I knew that's where I needed to place my energy and continue to pursue this wonderful new sport. On the side I also knew that I needed to continue my expansion of being a fitness model. Along side my path of competing I was blessed to shoot with outstanding photographers and network at events such as the Arnold Sports Classic and Mr. Olympia weekend. With the aid of my # 1 sponsor Optimum Nutrition I was able to further expand my name and create a bigger name. As time went by I knew that I needed to go back to my original roots and continue to help others in their own fitness goals and dreams. AC FIT BODY was then created by me so that I could bring my business to an international crowd and help those than wanted to learn how to take their physique's to the next level.
Currently I am pursuing the first Mr. Olympia Men's Physique tittle. Like I said in the beginning, my journey has began but it still has not ended and it still has not yet been written, right now I'm writing it myself and will only keep trying my best daily not only to keep growing my journey but also simultaneously help others in their own....

Black Male Models Biography

Source(Google.com.pk)
He is the ultimate renaisance man. As a model, Ngo Okafor has graced the pages and covers of countless magazines and has been called the most downloaded black male model. He has worked with international superstars such as Gisele Bundchen, Mary J. Blige and Lil’ Kim. As an actor he has worked on numerous TV shows, movies and Soap operas. On screen, Ngo has worked with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Accademy award winner, Monique and Bridget Moynahan. As a boxer, he is a back-to-back, two-time Golden Gloves Champion.

He has been called one of the quickest studies the boxing world has ever seen, a powerful yet graceful presence in the ring and one of the quickest studies the fight world has ever seen. Within three years of beginning his career in 2005, Ngoli Onyeka Okafor, became a two-time heavyweight champion, winning back-to-back Golden Gloves, amateur boxing’s highest distinction. His accomplishments are even more impressive when one considers Ngo’s background. Raised in the Ibo speaking region of Nigeria, the second child of a Harvard academic and a teacher, sports were frowned upon in his house; brains were always valued over brawn. “My dad used to say athletes are like jesters in a kings court,” recalls Ngo, whose name means joy in Ibo. “I’ve always appreciated the value of a good education, but him saying that used to really piss me off, because I felt like I could have both.” He attended the University of Connecticut in the US and studied computer science, eventually landing a job with the Connecticut Department of Transportation, where he taught engineers and architects how to draw using computers. “I’ve always loved computers and there’s a part of me that will always be a bit of a nerd,” says Ngo. “But I also knew that I was naturally athletic and I wanted to see where that side would take me. I was curious to see if I could play at the highest level.”

He accidentally stumbled into boxing five years ago, at the ripe old age of 31 (around the time when most fighters hang up their gloves). What began as a simple workout routine (punching the bag, jumping rope, etc) quickly grew into an all-consuming passion for Ngo, who, at the urging of several fashion photographers, had relocated to New York City to pursue modeling. Professional fighters who watched him sparring noticed his innate talent and encouraged him to develop his skill. With the fierce dedication he’s applied to his work throughout his life, he immersed himself in the ring, training five to six hours a day…every day. “Boxing became my life,” he says. “I wanted to be one of the best that ever did it. I started later than most fighters, so I know I had to make up for lost time.”

After winning the Golden Gloves by unanimous decision in 2008 and 2009, Ngo, never one to rest on his laurels, turned his sites towards modeling and acting. With his boyish good looks, chiseled physique and quiet intensity, he was a natural. Over the years, he’s posed with supermodels like Gisele Bundchen (V Magazine) and superstars like Mary J. Blige (MAC Cosmetic’s Viva Glam campaign). He’s appeared in more than a dozen issues of Men’s Health Magazine, has produced two best-selling calendars and has been featured in publications ranging from Vogue and W to ESPN and Fortune.

Most recently, he was celebrated alongside five Olympians in the Spring issue of the Wall Street Journal Magazine. As a result of all of his efforts, he is now considered to be the most downloaded black male model in the world. Ngo’s acting career is also taking off. His television work has included stints on soap operas and TV series. Ngo just wrapped work on a feature film titled “True Story”, opposite JAmes Franco and Jonah Hill, which opens in theaters in 2014. Ngo is currently at work on, “Three Rounds”, a feature-length documentary, which chronicles his journey from Nigeria to the top of the boxing world. “I really want the film to inspire people to dream big and work hard,” says Ngo. “That’s always been my mantra and so far so good.”They say the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice. I can only imagine what Broderick Hunter tastes like. Those are some calories I don’t mind burning ;) He is one fine looking man. SLURP. The second I saw his gorgeous lips, I knew I had to feature him for my weekly Model Behavior series. I’m sure you’ll agree after eying his work.

Raised in Los Angeles, Hunter began his modelling career after being scouted by agent Michael Maddox. The former basketball player soon found himself scoring major editorials for Italian GQ and Paris Vogue. He recently appeared in the DSquared Spring/Summer 2013 fashion show in Milan. The 6’2″ stud also appeared as the love interest in Ciara’s “Sorry” music video. Broderick is so sexy, all of The Wanted’s ladies in their “Warzone” clip end up cheating with him. Who can blame them? Check out Hunter’s hot “body of work” below.

British Male Models Biography

Source(Google.com.pk)
If you read last week’s Model Behavior post, you’re aware I’m selecting models based on my current Europe 2011 vacay. Even though I’m still in Italy today, I’m heading off to Jolly ol’ England tomorrow so I’m picking a British bloke for this week’s Model Behavior feature. Meet Ollie Edwards. I couldn't have picked a better dude to represent the UK. Currently, this in-demand model is in the Top 25 of Models.com male rankings. That’s kinda of a big deal.

His sexy combination of killer bad boy features meets boy next door looks make him a favorite for fashion editorials and ad campaigns. It’s hard to believe he only reluctantly started to model after being persuaded to give it a try. Ollie was a professional racing motorcyclist before posing in front of the camera. His flawless skin and perfectly plump lips quickly captured the eyes of many within the fashion industry. In his relatively short career, he’s already worked with some of the big guns including Polo Ralph Lauren, Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Trussardi, Y3 and many more.

While he’s known for his perfect bone structure, Ollie is also known for an imperfection he has. The Brit has a rather huge scar across his stomach. At four-years old, he injured himself while having fun on a slip-and-slide. He went over a chipped stone which sliced up his stomach. Showing off his sense of humor, Edwards often jokes he received the scar via a Samurai sword. He states it’s cooler to tell that story than that of his childhood mishap. Check out Ollie’s scar, lips, flawless skin and every part of his body below. Stay tuned for next week’s Model Behavior and see where I end up in Europe.

Ollie Edwards Model Stats

Height: 6’2″
Waist: 30
Suit: 48
Shoe: 10.5
Hair: brown
Eyes: blueOnce again, I decided to feature two guys for this week’s Model Behavior. Don’t get used to this double-header of eye candy every Tuesday just yet. It’s only temporary. If you read my post on Daniel Hamaj, you know why I did it. Last week’s fresh meat models were such a hit, I decided to feature another 20-year-old. Ergo Hamaj. But if you’re similar to me, and like your men a little older and with a bit more meat, say hello to Ryan Bowden.

I fully acknowledge that being 27 isn’t old by any means, but it makes me feel less pervy lusting over someone this age then someone who just turned 20. Bowden is definitely worth salivating for. He sports facial hair which I love, and plenty of moles which I also love. This British model has been in the industry for almost 10 years. In addition to modeling, he also acts and sings. He currently resides in London and represented by New Madison Models. Check out a few of his sexy pics below.Stephen James

West London born model Stephen James was scouted in Barcelona and has been modelling since the end of 2012.
The professional footballer sports the most impressive set of tattoos we’ve shot for The Model Wall including a giant skull on his back and detailed sketches of Hollywood greats, music icons and even Her Majesty the Queen!
Stephen has shot a number of editorials but one of his most memorable to date was for El Pais that saw him strip down to reveal his ink (with some ‘technical difficulties’ that Stephen notes in his Q&A).

American Male Models Biography

Source (Google.com.pk)
Returning to civilization for an education by socialized America, I acquired a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Northridge. After college I was encouraged by a friend to meet his modeling agent. My life would never be the same. It was legendary male super model agent Omar Alberto’s idea to try the Native Man in the modeling business. Having successfully shot with great photographers like Carlos Reynosa, Cliff Watts and Matthew Rolston allowed me the access to American & European commercial and modeling market. I was then booking great commercial & print accounts like Toyota, Wilson Leather and Anson’s Germany.  Small spots in Television, Film and Voice soon followed. Auditioning and not landing roles with Disney / Jungle Book and Mel Gibson / Apacolypto were a just a few inspirations that kept me going till landing a small scene in the blockbuster movie TWILIGHT as Native #1 Jacob Black’s great great grandfather, EPHRAIM BLACK, leader of the original Werewolf Tribe. Life has not been the same since.Fast forward to today. Current commercial accounts have included Union Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, Koff Beer, Bell Meat. I have completed production on Yellow Rock with Michael Biehn, James Russo and the Spears Brothers. Yellow Rock has received 18 film awards and has acquired worldwide distribution for 2013. The Dead and the Damned has been very well received with world wide distribution, placement in Red Box as well as the national chains. Just wrapped fom “Little Boy” starring Sean Astin, Emily Watson and Kevin James along with 10 more A list actors, I am the voice of Young Turok (alongside Irene Bedard and Adam Beach) in the animated feature Turok: Son of Stone,I have 4 Rick Mora posters being distributed and have been featured in the 2009 & 2011 Native American Men’s calendar. With numerous Magazine Cover’s, interviews and the  growing popularity of the Native culture has led me to LA Talk Radio’s Combat Radio as a co-host. The music video with Agnes Carlsson has hit over 5.2 million views and is still growing and my web presence and social network is exploding with a world wide fan base. I am very proud to be an ambassador of the Red Crystal Gala, an E. Joyce Thomson charity to support abused women and victims of sexual assault on the reservation. I am also on the Board of Directors for SAVING K-9 LIVES, a canine rescue organization working with an amazing celebrity support team. And finally was the host/presenter for the ARTIVIST Film Festival 2012, Red Nation Film Festival 2012 and the Eco Conventions Green Living Stage 2012. Fashion model. Posed for the Source magazine, 1993; has appearing in various publications, including Arena, British GQ, Details, EM, Essence, GQ, Mondo Uomo, New York Times--fashion section, Paper, Vibe, and Vogue Hommes; signed with Bethann Management Company, 1993; first black to sign exclusive contract with Ralph Lauren, 1995. Fashion shows include Tommy Hilfiger; Nautica; Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, and Donna Karan. In a world of fashion that has been dominated by women--from the British Twiggy of the 1960s to the multi-ethnic Naomi Campbell of today--Tyson Beckford was not only the first black male "supermodel," he was the first male supermodel. As Scott Poulson-Bryant wrote in Vibe, "Fabulous females like Christy [Turlington], Linda [Evangelista] and Naomi [Campbell] used to epitomize the world of high fashion. That was until a brother bum-rushed the menswear show." In fact Beckford has become big enough that he is now primarily known as Tyson. Ralph Lauren, one of the biggest fashion designers and clothing manufacturers of the 1980s and 1990s, attributes Tyson's success to his "all-American look with a dramatic edge. He conveys power, style and intelligence in a very exciting way."
Tyson's current wealth and high visibility are not the result of a privileged background. He was born in the Bronx to parents of Jamaican descent. He points out that the exotic cast to his features comes from a Chinese grandparent. Soon after he was born, his mother took the family back to Jamaica where they stayed until he was seven. Coming back to New York City, they first lived upstate before returning to Harlem, where Tyson still maintains a residence.
Bethann Hardison, Tyson's agent, credits his mother with a large part of Tyson's success, saying that she raised him to be unusually sensitive. His mother worked for a time as a fashion model. Realizing her son's extraordinary charisma from a young age, she dragged him with her from one runway show to another. Despite his mother's influence, he was not immune to the usual tensions of growing up poor in the ghetto. Never disowning his past, he admits that he lived a wild life, sometimes running with a dangerous crowd and often courting trouble. He even spent a night in jail for stealing a car, though the charges were reduced.
SUPERMODEL, ACTOR and television personality Tyson Craig Beckford was born in Rochester, New York on December 19, 1970. His parents are of different ethnic backgrounds. His father, Lloyd Beckford, is a Jamaican of Panamanian nationality, and his mother, Hillary Dixon Hall, is a Chinese Jamaican. He shares his part-Asian ethnicity with fellow black supermodel Naomi Campbell, whose grandmother was also Chinese.
TYSON'S CHINESE HISTORY
The Chinese first came to Jamaica in 1854 to work on its plantations as indentured servants. Relationships soon flourished between the migrants and the local Jamaican women, and by the mid-1940s there were over 5,500 people of Afro-Chinese ethnicity living on the island.
The biography of Tyson's rise to supermodel stardom is as compelling as his multi-ethnic heritage. Soon after he was born his mother took the family back to Jamaica, where they lived for seven years before returning to New York, finally settling in Harlem. During his school years Tysonwas teased about his looks, but this did not stop his career as a model taking off in 1992, after he was spotted in New York's Washington Square Park by Jeff Jones, an editor at hip-hop magazine The Source.
MODEL MOVES
Shortly afterwards he began working with top photographers Herb Ritts and Bruce Weber. It was Weber who introduced the young model to Ralph Lauren, who signed him in 1994 to an exclusive contract as the face of the Polo Sport range that made his name worldwide as the first black male supermodel.
But it was tough, as being the first black male fashion model to feature for the designer came with challenges. “I remember walking into Ralph Lauren for the first time, and seeing only white guys there;” he said in Tyson Beckford Up Close. “I was the only black guy in the whole casting. And they'd give me that look, like what are you doing here.”
Undeterred, Beckford went on to major success with Polo Ralph Lauren, modelling for the brand for five years, while simultaneously featuring on the covers of all the major fashion magazines. In 1995 his cross-racial aesthetic of Chinese eyes, high cheekbones, full lips and brown skin catapulted him into People magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People In The World. More recently he has become a television celebrity, branching out as a judge in reality model shows such as Make Me A Supermodel, and Britain And Ireland's Next Top Model.
